Artists contributed alot to the West Virginia's economy, according to a 2005 West Virginia Arts Study. Findings were based on surveys sent to 120 nonprofit cultural institutions and 426 employees, along with an examination of census data for self-employed artists. The State Director of the West Virginia Development Office's Small Buiness Development Center said, :The importance of the arts to West Virginians far exceeds its economic impact on our lives." It continued to encourage creative drives and impulse for economic survival and prosperity. Who knows where it may lead next?
